Support Mothers and Babies in Galiwin’ku with Every Elevit and Menevit purchase
At the northeast tip of the Northern Territory, on a remote island surrounded by ocean and rich in culture, lies the Indigenous community of Galiwin’ku. Here, around 2,000 residents are part of a strong, close-knit community— yet many essential services remain out of reach.
Australian Red Cross leads the Baby Hub at the heart of Galiwin'ku—a unique and vital space providing holistic care and practical support for mothers and babies. Run in partnership with Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation, the Baby Hub combines cultural and Western health practices, emotional support, and practical essentials like food, nappies, and a safe place to rest. It is a place of compassion, learning, and connection.
How Elevit Is Helping
Elevit is committed to supporting Australian women and babies at every stage of the journey, from pre-conception to postnatal recovery. As such, this year, Bayer and Elevit in partnership with Australian Red Cross and TerryWhite Chemmart, are helping to bridge the gap in maternal and infant health in Galiwin'ku.
For every Elevit product sold at TerryWhite Chemmart, $5 will be donated directly to Baby Hub*, supporting First Nations mothers and their babies during the critical first 1,000 days of life

Why Baby Hub Matters
In Galiwin’ku, where the preterm birth rate is three times the national average and healthcare access is limited—Darwin is over 500km away, and the nearest hospital is a flight away in Nhulunbuy—Australian Red Cross, together with Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation, leads the Baby Hub. Driven primarily by First Nations women, the Baby Hub team provides more than medical care. It oers food, a place of rest, education on baby care and toddler nutrition, and much more. Led by the community, for the community, the Baby Hub is making a real impact every day. As Bridget, the Baby Hub team leader, puts it: “Everyone here is consistently working together to support one another— and that’s how it should be.”
